So I have a male friend who has an ex-girlfriend who wouldn't ever let me see him, talk to him or hang out becvause she didn't trust me around him even though I would never touch him and vice versa.
They broke up so now I can hang out with him and shes incredibly rude to me because they're still friends.
I don't understand why girls function this way or how girls like this even get dates. This is a frustrating situation, any advice?How to deal with girls who don't like other girls around their boyfriend even if they won't cheat?
This is the reason girls dislike other girls. Its all about competition and clout. Girls hate other girls because of guys, simple and true. This girl has a territorial problem. She obviously sees you as a threat. Chances are your friend has mentioned you in conversations with his ex-girlfriend and she knows how good of a bond you two share and she doesn't like it.
The fact that you stopped hanging around him knowing his ex had a problem with it was the right thing to do on your part to avoid confrontation and make things harder for your friend. Since they are not together anymore, quite frankly what she says doesn't mean anything, nor can she stop you from seeing your friend. And if you and your friend decide you two like each other on another level beyond friendship, thats your choices, not hers.
